Feeder/Substation Load Relief and Peak Load Management During High Load Season

MBESS Size 20 Ft Trailer / PROMIS (500 kW / 1 MWh), 16 Ft Trailer / Mini-PROMIS (250 kW / 500 kWh)

Innoversa has deployed MBESS for 3 consecutive years to support the customer’s seasonal peak load challenges, delivering reliable, clean, and flexible power without the need for diesel generation.

Key Use Cases:

  • Utilizing mobile energy storage as a complete replacement for diesel generators to provide temporary feeder and load relief.
  • Supporting a vacation community during peak tourist seasons (8–10 weeks)
  • Mitigating voltage drop issues caused by long single-phase feeder distances.
  • Connection through a pole-mounted step-up transformer to efficiently supply peak demand.
  • Charging during off-peak hours (1 AM – 6 AM) using pre-scheduled setpoints.
  • Discharging during peak hours (10 AM – 10 PM) based on scheduled profiles and real-time voltage needs.
  • Reactive power (Q) injection to maintain feeder voltage within acceptable limits.
  • Volt-VAR control for dynamic voltage support and grid stability
  • Active power (P) setpoint adjustment in response to voltage fluctuations
  • Low Voltage Ride-Through (LVRT) enabled to ensure continuous operation during disturbances.

Customer Gain:

  • Eliminated diesel usage, reducing fuel costs, emissions, and noise.
  • Maintained stable voltage and improved power quality across the feeder.
  • Enabled reliable service during peak demand without costly grid upgrades.
  • Improved customer satisfaction in high-demand seasonal periods.
  • Flexible, repeatable deployment year-over-year with minimal setup time.
  • Enhanced grid resilience with advanced control capabilities and real-time response
