Seasonal Excess Generation and Peak Load Management (Hosting Capacity Enhancement)

MBESS 20 Ft Trailer / PROMIS (500 kW / 1 MWh)

Innoversa deployed PROMIS to enhance feeder hosting capacity and manage both excess generation and peak demand, enabling more efficient utilization of distributed energy resources while maintaining grid stability.

Key Use Cases:

  • Maximizing PV production value by avoiding curtailment and enabling energy shifting to increase overall revenue.
  • Providing feeder voltage support by absorbing reactive power during high PV generation periods and injecting reactive power during peak demand.
  • Enhancing hosting capacity without requiring permanent grid upgrades.
  • Enabling flexible peak shaving with scheduled discharge (5 PM – 7 PM).
  • Allowing dynamic adjustment of peak shaving timing based on feeder conditions or control center signals.
  • Supporting grid stability through coordinated active (P) and reactive (Q) power control.

Customer Gain:

  • Increased utilization and revenue from existing PV assets by minimizing curtailment.
  • Improved feeder voltage stability and overall power quality.
  • Deferred or avoided infrastructure upgrade costs.
  • Enhanced operational flexibility with dynamic control capabilities.
  • Reliable peak load management during critical periods.
  • Scalable and repeatable solution for seasonal and temporary grid constraints.
